Director of Finance

Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Finance is to ensure the integrity and sound use of the organization's fiscal resources;  promote the conditions for prosperity and stability within the organization; promote the organization's economic health by providing leadership in the development and execution of sound fiscal policies; provide expert financial and technical accounting services and also establishes and implements procedures and regulations pertaining to the organization wide accounting and payroll systems.

The Department of Finance's commitment to our staff is to create economic and employment opportunities for all by raising the rate of sustainable growth. To the extent this objective is linked to the industry's economy, Finance will seek to influence regional financial and economic issues whenever possible to promote industry economic growth and stability.

Organization
The Department of the Finance is organized into three major components; the Departmental offices are as follows: 

  • Deputy Director of Finance - Accounting
  • Deputy Director of Finance - Budget Management
  • Assistant Director of Finance - Payroll



Director of Corporate Education

Mission Statement
The Corporate Education Department is committed to increasing opportunities for all members to participate in and understand the television and film industry. To fulfill that mission, the Department strives to enhance the economic well-being of our organization by providing customized training and professional development. This training reflects the highest standards of excellence and diversity indicative of the world in which we live, and to make the results accessible to the broadest possible audience through digital media, television and film.

The Department believes that education in the digital arts is one of humanity's most eloquent means of understanding the world. Through the digital arts, we share the highest achievements of every culture and find a universal language which permits communication among all peoples. As such, the digital arts are an essential component of a complete education in our industry.

The digital arts teach discipline, improve self-esteem, inspire creativity, and help people to set and reach goals. Knowledge of the digital arts makes good teachers better and makes participating staff excited, challenging members - where they are encouraged to explore, to create, and to reach their full potential.

With its affiliates, the state's public access stations, the Corporate Education Department takes a leadership role in digital arts education policy and programs, working as both a pioneer and as a partner with other digital media and performing arts institutions, educators and schools, legislators, parents, and community and business leaders.



Director of Communication

Description
The Corporate Communications Department manages the public relations and internal relations efforts of ERMP.  The mission of the Department of Communications is to promote greater organizational awareness and understanding among diverse audiences of the decisions of The Senior Staff and Board of Directors and other policy making bodies and of the programs and work of the organization; to establish strategic partnerships to make such work possible, and to stimulate awareness of and interest in the art and cultural traditions, increase cultural exchange, and encourage digital media production in the industry.

Statement of Need and Program Objective:
To improve communication between the public, including the business community, and the department; to create a better understanding of the state's environmental laws and requirements, including information on permits; and to coordinate and serve as a liaison between the department and programs affecting business.

Activities/Responsibilities
Corporate Communications is responsible for communicating internal and external messages of the corporation through email, video, seminars and press releases. The department manages the corporate image and fields all general informational calls about the corporation.  The department writes, and directs corporate promos. The department receives reviews, edits and releases all scripts for production.   The department writes articles for local publications related to ERMP interviews, bands, television specials and movies. The department writes or reviews all biographies utilized by ERMP. The department also handles giving decisions (United Way, etc.) on behalf of the corporation.

Responsible to
The Corporate Communications Department is lead by the Director of Corporate Communications which is part of the Internal and External Business Affairs Group.  The Assistant Vice President and Senior Director for Internal and External Business Affairs reports to the Chief of Staff.  The Chief of Staff reports to the CEO / Executive Producer.



Director of Marketing and Advertising

Marketing increases revenues through successful promotion of products and support of the selling process.

The department meets this goal by:
Understanding our products, customers, competition, industry, and the trends driving customer preferences and decisions, using numerous marketing vehicles to present our products to prospective customers, supporting the selling effort from first contact, to closed sale, to maintaining a successful relationship with customers.

Marketing is a basic business function covering a wide range of activities. It includes studying markets, planning products, pricing them, promoting them, selling them, and then delivering these products to customers. People in wholesaling, retailing, advertising agencies, research firms and transportation companies are all working in the marketing area. Any firm which is reviewing its product policies needs marketers to identify the market, choose the products, find where they can be sold and decide on a price for them.

SUMMARY
Plans, directs, and coordinates the marketing of the organization's products and/or services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establishes marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services.
  • Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure the profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services.
  • Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
  • Plans and oversees the organization's advertising and promotion activities including print, electronic, and direct mail outlets.
  • Communicates with outside advertising agencies on ongoing campaigns.
  • Works with writers and artists and oversees copywriting, design, layout, pasteup, and production of promotional materials.
  • Develops and recommends pricing strategy for the organization which will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and share of market performance in relation to pre-set standards and to general and specific trends within the industry and the economy.
  • Ensures effective control of marketing results and that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are withindesignated budgets.
  • Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Recommends changes in basic structure and organization of marketing group to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities.
  • Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts.
  • Prepares marketing activity reports.



Director of Fund Raising

The Fundraising Department is responsibe for proposing, developing, and managing all fundraising activities within ERMP. The Fundraising Department must run in a cost efficient and effective manner. The role involves ensuring adherence to best practice, and appropriate procedures, promoting the work of the organization, and engaging in strategic planning. The Department requires a high level of energy and creativity. Innovation is one of the department's values.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensuring that plans for the Fundraising Department are created, agreed, implemented and evaluated to meet the fundraising needs of the organization.
  • Lead, manage and supervise staff of the Fundraising Department to ensure the achievement of fundraisings aims and objectives
  • Review and implement an annual Fundraising Strategy, which will enable the organization to achieve its aims and objectives and monitor progress.
  • Ensure that the Fundraising Strategy is implemented and adapted to changing environment.
  • Developing new and innovative fundraising mechanisms.
  • Ensure that the fundraising activities are planned and implemented to meet agreed fundraising targets.
  • Identify potential major donors (including companies, trusts and individuals) and choose the appropriate method and message to communicate with each.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with major donors, committees and supporters.
  • Ensure the Fundraising Programme meets agreed income projections within agreed expenditure budget.
  • Ensure that fundraising presents a positive and professional external image, which promotes ERMP visions, aims, principles and objectives.



Director of Political Affairs

The ERMP Political Affairs Department provides aggressive state and national advocacy on behalf of ERMP membership and the public access station initiative.

With member input, ERMP Political Affairs staff improve the political, business, and professional climates for the multispecialty television and film industrys. The department also advises and informs ERMP members regarding state and federal laws, legislation, and regulations affecting the public access community, as well as other relevant developments.

Essential Functions:
Publications and Updates: The department keeps members informed on the latest development through e-mailed Legislative Alerts and Breaking News bulletins, legislative analyses.

Share industry information we come across (info gleaned from news clips, policy organizations and other contacts)

  • Provide research upon request.
  • Connect with others who have/are experienced the same issue.
  • Assist with media relations, provide testimony and issue talking points.
  • Aid in building a public affairs strategy Research.
  • Can provide legal, issue or historical research.
  • Provide issue education and awareness.
  • Developing a program to assist affiliates in building a successful government affairs program.
  • Monitor legislative activities and television and film industry contacts.
  • Grassroots Development and Support



Director of Personnel

Mission Statement
It is our mission to ensure that the organization become a corporation of choice by assuring that highly qualified individuals are recruited, developed and retained; our vision is to become an exemplary provider of digital media for television and film services by creating professional partnerships with our customers. The Personnel Department values integrity, ethics, professionalism, quality customer service, public service, teamwork and fun.

The purpose of the Personnel Department is to provide for the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of staff members; take an active role in personnel management, labor relations, wage administration, and human resource development; interpret union contracts and the Personnel Handbook; and maintain the appropriate record-keeping to remain in compliance with state and federal employment guidelines.

Department Description
The Personnel Department administers personnel management, human resources development; workers' compensation, benefits programs, employee assistance programs, and is the official custodian for the organization's official personnel records.

Program Description
The Personnel Department works closely with the Senior Staff in the development and implementation of policies designed to assist both the volunteer and the public in efficient and equitable participation. The volunteers are governed by the Personnel Handbook. The Personnel staff advises Department Heads on matters of discipline and grievance procedures and, when necessary, investigates problem situations. Volunteer information and statistical data are generated by the Personnel Department to assist with labor negotiations and annual budget planning. The department advises the organization on matters of Equal Employment and Affirmative Action compliance, state and federal wage and hour laws, unemployment compensation, and general labor issues. Volunteer orientation, staff development training, special. seminars, and volunteer recognition/appreciation events are coordinated through this office. Position administration including the writing of job descriptions, conducting position audits, determining appropriate classifications, and authorizing pay and benefit packages is the responsibility of the Personnel Department.



Director of Safety and Security

The Department of Safety and Security oversees and manages all safety and security issues within ERMP.

The mission of the Department of Safety and Security is to promote greater organizational awareness and understanding of appropriate safety and security procedures within the television and film industry.

Essential Functions

  • Protect life and Property.
  • Provide safety and security assistance to volunteers and guests of ERMP.
  • Patrol on foot, pursue suspicious individuals and/or violators discovered on ERMP location shoots, and control disorderly persons.
  • Enforce ERMP Safety and Security policies and regulations in an effective, courteous and sensitive manner.
  • Provide rapid respond to safety, fire, medical, crime, environmental health and other emergencies.
  • Open and secure ERMP locations when necessary.
  • Escort volunteers of ERMP as needed.
  • Assist local law enforcement, fire and other emergency service agencies in the performance of the duties when requested.
  • Provide security at special events as needed.
  • Control traffic and parking on ERMP locations shoots.
  • Respond to calls for assistance or service.
  • Report safety hazards and violations to the Senior Staff.
  • Prepare and submit reports containing required and pertinent information in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Senior Staff or Board of Directors.
