ERMP approved as an Official Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Awards

Anthony Dowling, Executive Producer for Eno River Media Production announced Wednesday morning that Eno River Media Productions has been approved as an Official Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Awards.

After an extended application process, ERMP was awarded the privilege of being a member in the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.

In 2003, President Bush created the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation to find ways to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers are making in our Nation. The Council brings together leaders from the worlds of business, entertainment, sports, education, government, nonprofits, and the media.

The President's Council on Service and Civic Participation created the President's Volunteer Service Award program as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service.

Recognizing and honoring volunteers sets a standard for service to others. It encourages a sustained commitment to civic participation and inspires others to make volunteering a central part of their lives. The President's Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals, families, and groups that have achieved a certain standard – measured by the number of hours served over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime.

To date, the President's Council has partnered with more than 76 Leadership Organizations and more than 14,000 Certifying Organizations to bestow more than 400,000 awards to the Nation's deserving volunteers.

John Day named Director of Marketing and Advertising for Eno River Media Production

On June 11th, 2008, John Day accepted the position of Director of Marketing and Advertising for Eno River Media Production and his placement on the Senior Staff. John will be responsible for directing and coordinating all marketing and advertising activity within our non profit organization.

John was born in Morehead City, NC, an area known as the Crystal Coast, which is located at the southern tip of the outer banks in 1972.

John was born in Morehead City, NC, which is known as the Crystal Coast of NC. According to local historians, the legendary pirate "Blackbeard", had resided in nearby Beaufort and married the daughter of John Day, a local fisherman. While no actual Peyton's have been recorded, the Days were in fact some of the first settlers to the arh-rea, which presupposes that John is possibly a legitimate descendent of Blackbeard.

In 1990 John graduated from West Carteret High School. John then decided to head west to the "Old Well". While in Chapel Hill, he studied chivalry and piracy, which led him on a voyage to Hawaii after leaving school. Some say it was the calling of the cool trade winds and the perfect wave, but we know for fact it was the amazing experience he gained in digital video production techniques. After several years of life in the palms, and behind a camera, John headed back to NC- but was sidetracked. Still not ready to return to his native land, he set sail for Margaritaville. For 3 years, John lived like a conch shell, washed ashore on the sun drenched beaches of South Florida, plotting a plan to return to NC to utilize his life experiences in the digital video industry.

In 2005, John decided to leave his beach paradise behind and joined forces with long time friend John Kearns, founder of Cinewerks, a motion picture and television production company to produce a series of films, and new friend Courtney Newton, of Newton Solutions. Collectively, they drew upon their own core competencies and emerged as a leading online video network for NC.

Today, both John's and Court are working diligently towards their goals while honing their crafts. During that time, John D. was introduced to ERMP.TV and its Exec. Dir. Anthony Dowling. From this meeting, spawned a relationship that continues to grow. John states “Having Anthony as an advisor is like having a trusted partner, he shares your vision but will sometimes halt its fruition, and since our companies missions are uniquely aligned, we benefit from a seamless integration of ideas and strategies.”

Apart from the film industry, John is President/CEO of Day Media Group, a media concern in the marketing and technology space. Day states: “For us, the Internet is not a hobby. Technology is not something we dabble in. We were born digitally passionate about blending art and science, about defying the edge of what is possible. We got here because we believed -- and still do in the power of the Web to transform lives, connect people, and move brands. That's the power of TV (Cinewerks/ERMP), Web (NCWELCOME), and Mobile (Sumotext), & ultimately Day Media Group, who fosters these special blends.”

John joined the Board of Directors of ERMP in April, 08.
