The North Carolina Film Awards

The North Carolina Film Awards (NCFA) calls for filmmakers to submit their work starting from October 5th through November 30th, 2010.
The Mission of the North Carolina Film Awards is to strengthen the independent film, television and video industry. The NCFA shall identify and recognize an array of talented filmmakers and their movies from across the state, region and nation. Features and Shorts, are welcome at the North Carolina Film Awards, bringing in the widest array of artists from different disciplines.
The North Carolina Film Awards draws motion pictures and talent from around the world to North Carolina, one of the top movie and television producers in the United States. Our awards will identify the top achievers in their category. Every producer and director hopes to create an award winning movie. To a worthy cadre of independent industry craftsman, it is our honor to bring these hopes to fruition.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for consideration:
- Entrants must comply with the Entry Rules & Regulations, including deadline(s) and selected material requirements.
- Movies must be in their complete form, no works-in-progress accepted.
- Non-English language works must either have English subtitles or be accompanied by dialogue lists in both English and the original language.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
All entries must include the following:
- An official 2010 NCFA Entry Form properly completed and signed.
- The entry fee is payable by check or money order in U.S. Dollars only (made payable to Eno River Media Productions).

- Note: Entry fees are non-refundable.
- A single DVD, packaged in an industry-standard, 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" plastic DVD case. Please ensure it plays in its entirety on consumer DVD players prior to sending. Label with the work’s title, running time, director(s) name(s), contact number and email. Professional output job labels only on DVDs or, if you do not have a label, please use a permanent marker to write necessary information. Discs with text or graphics printed directly on the surface are also acceptable. Ship your DVDs in a bubble-pack envelope. The NCFA is not responsible for damage to submitted materials incurred in shipping.
- One press kit recommended for feature movies; optional for short movies - including production credit list, director bio and photo and at least one production still (hard copy or digital TIFF).
- Note: Entry materials will not be returned.
- All submission materials must be delivered together in one package. If completing your submission form online, do not deliver your submission materials until you have completed your online entry, and be sure that your online entry number is printed clearly on all materials.
- The movie's producers are responsible for all shipping of movies.
SHORT FILMS VS. FEATURE FILMS
- 45 minutes or less running length is considered a SHORT
- more than 46 minutes up to 120 minutes is considered a FEATURE

AWARDS
Unless otherwise agreed to by NCFA programmers in writing, awards will be issued to the winning movie director (as identified in the Movie Information Form) and will be fulfilled approximately six weeks after the close date of the 2010 NCFA. 2010 Awards listed in the above NCFA sections are subject to change.
Accepted films are eligible for the following awards in their category:
- Trustee Award - Our most prestigious award
- Director’s Award - Our award for superior effort
- President’s Award - Our award of distinction
MULTIPLE ENTRIES
Each entered work must be accompanied by its own entry form and by a separate DVD. No compilation DVDs. You may cover entry fees in one check or money order.
SELECTION PROCESS
A panel of industry experts will screen for accepted works in each category.
NOTIFICATION OF STATUS
Applicants are responsible for ensuring their entry arrives at our office. For confirmation of receipt of entries, include a self-addressed stamped postcard with your entry.
